Product Recall: 1.5 Litre Spare Air 300 Kit with Dial Gauge (2608-0027) was announced earlier this year, in the "Personal protective equipment (PPE) - Environmental Respiratory Protection - Non Powered" category. The product presents a serious risk of drowning as it failed depth testing and does not meet the requirements of BS EN 250:2014. The maximum depth reached by the apparatus without exceeding the requirements was 5 metres, not the 50m required. If the product is used in depths beyond 5 metres, it may stop operating. The product does not meet the requirements of the Regulation (EU) 2016/425 on Personal Protective Equipment. That is the hazard as reported publicly by the firm and the regulator; it does not necessarily mean every unit has failed.
