What is the hazard with LED Mining Lamp (2608-0087)?

LED Mining Lamp (2608-0087) was announced earlier this year, in the "Lighting equipment - Mounted Lighting" category. The product presents a serious risk of fire because the earth conductor is not adequately secured and may become detached during use, compromising the protective earthing function. Testing also identified that the product exceeds the maximum permitted temperature rise, which may cause overheating and increase the likelihood of fire. If a fire occurs, consumers could suffer burns and other injuries. The product is also missing required safety information and instructions. The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016. That is the hazard as reported publicly by the firm and the regulator; it does not necessarily mean every unit has failed.
