What is the hazard with ProRider Bicycle Helmets?

ProRider Bicycle Helmets was announced earlier this year, in the "Other" category. The recalled helmets violate the mandatory safety standard for bicycle helmets because the helmets do not comply with the impact attenuation, positional stability, labeling and certification requirements. The helmets can fail to protect the user in the event of a crash, posing a serious risk of injury or death due to head injury. This falls under one of the more serious hazard categories (injury, choking or strangulation risk), so the recall covers every unit sold, not only units with a reported incident.

What should you do if you own this product?

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled helmets and contact ProRider for a full refund. Consumers should destroy the helmet by cutting the straps and sending a photo of the destroyed helmet to org@prorider.com to obtain a refund. Sold at: Distributed by Wisconsin Bike Federation, Kiwanis Club, Foster Love nationwide, and sold online at ProRider.com from June 2022 through May 2023 for between $5 and $18.. If you bought it somewhere else, the remedy above still applies — contact the firm directly using the official recall page linked below.

How many units are affected?

About About 9,546 units of ProRider Bicycle Helmets are covered by this recall, according to the official count reported by the firm to the regulator.
