How to read this batch of CPSC recalls
What does this cover, and what does it leave out?
This batch covers 689 recalls announced since mid-2025 — the period we verified and loaded for this first pass. CPSC has published recalls since 1973; older ones, and recalls announced after our last snapshot, are not here yet.
The category with the most recalls right now is "Other" (608 recalls), and the most common hazard across the whole batch is Choking / small parts (188 recalls) — a reminder that choking and fire-related risks dominate consumer product recalls generally, not just in this sample.
Why does the hazard type matter more than the brand?
A recall is about a specific hazard in a specific batch of units, not a verdict on the brand overall. The same manufacturer can have a clean record for years and still recall a single model over one component. That is why each recall page here leads with the hazard and the remedy, not with a brand name.
Glossário: os termos desta página
Recall
A public notice from a safety regulator or the company itself asking consumers to stop using, return, repair or exchange a product because it does not meet a safety requirement.
Hazard
The specific way a product can hurt someone — for example choking, fire, electric shock or a fall — as described by the regulator or the manufacturer.
Remedy
What the company offers to fix the problem: a refund, a free repair, a replacement product, or instructions to dispose of the item safely.
Choking hazard
A risk that a small part, button battery or detachable piece can block a child's airway if swallowed. It is the single most common hazard type in toy recalls.
Product category
The type of product the regulator assigns to a recall (toys, furniture, appliances, electronics...). It is how our category hub pages group recalls.
